Eileen Chavez became our heroine by filling in for Susan who was ill.  She taught a Country Swing dance that filled the floor!  Thank you Eileen!   

 

Johnny Guttierrez showed off his amazing collection of all our favorite country and western dance songs but you could sing to them if you had a bum knee.  🙄  

 

After Larry Brown received 19 stitches in his head it was evident that our committee was crumbling ever so slightly. But true to life with VSD, the volunteers jumped in to help.  Big thank yous to Carol Abeyta, Adelle and Mark Martinez, Linda Guttierrez, Mary Brown, my favorite person Karl Richards, and the “Energizer Bunnies” -- Jim and Sue Renfro -- as they never seem to get tired.

 

It was a very special treat to have the Visalia Sky Dancers formation team perform their routine to "Up, up and Away," going seamlessly into four different dances during one tune! Bachata, Nightclub 2-step, Rumba and Salsa.

 

When you hear the background of daily activities it was amazing that some of them could still be so refreshed.  Kelly had a golf tournament for a 9/11 fundraiser, Greg and Barbara had an all-day event at the coast but arrived in time to perform, and Cheryl spoke for over 8 hours volunteering at the new Visalia Heritage museum special event.  That's a lot of talking, even for Cheryl!  

 

Then Michelle and Ahmed danced so well it makes me wonder if they have extra back-up batteries in their shoes.  🤠  

 

Fun facts: We had great snacks — 110 cookies & bars — and only 2 cookies were left.  64 sandwiches and only 8 were left.  About 105 deviled eggs and 20 remained because I forgot to serve them. Last year, I had lots of sodas and none were drunk.  This year I brought 12 colas and all were consumed.  

 

It was a great night with some really cute cowboys and girls!  Thank you to all.
